I like time management & match 3 games, the two genres into which this game most solidly fits. I also like city-builders. So I should be the exact target audience for this game, but I didn't enjoy playing it. The game tells you to complete arbitrary tasks, something like quests, and just as in (bad) RPGs, it doesn't matter if you've JUST done the arbitrary task, you still have to do it again. The match 3 game is only really necessary when the game tells you to play it, and it's timed and impossible to strategize. There's some strategy involved in setting up your camp, and doing your best to fine-tune it. But here's the game's biggest flaw, in my opinion. After fine-tuning your camp, you have to move to a new area and complete a very tedious process in order to bring some of your progress with you. This happens several times over the course of the game. Additionally, the fishing minigame needs to be shot out of a cannon into the sun. Overall, this is a very annoying game.. A small and short strategy\/sim type game that should have been a fun and quick game but ended up being overall annoying with how the game progressed. You start off on a small island after a plane crash and start with a small group of workers to collect resources, to upgrades your structures, complete missions and build new structures that unlock as you level up. This isn't a negative up until you realize there are 4 islands and that every time you move to a new island you don't get to take anything with you and start the whole process over again. So as you progress through the story you do the same steps over again three times from the starting island, it stopped being fun after the second island.Another problem was resource gathering. Some resources that could be gathered would be collected automatically after the plant\/tree\/stone was harvested, however some of the resources that generate from your buildings had to be collected by clicking on the building. So this just led into an infinite loop of sending workers out to gather the various resources, then clicking your buildings than back to the workers again and repeat x 100. Would have been nice to auto set workers to collect some of the basic resources so you could do some of the minigames or other things, instead of repetitively telling them to collect one thing over and over. Also most of the islands seem to be gated by a single resource or two, so you have to work around that resource that stops you from progressing as quickly as you could. I get why it's done in these types of games, but its silly that in the last 15 minutes of the game I acquired as much money as the entirety of the rest of my play time. I think the overall game could have been a bit more enjoyable with some quality of life improvements, however what is here isn't something I can recommend. If you like these types of games I'd recommend something like The Promised Land (from the same developer\/publisher) instead, has more depth to it and its more than just mindlessly clicking.. If you like these types of games I'd recommend something like The Promised Land (from the same developer\/publisher) instead, has more depth to it and its more than just mindlessly clicking.. This is a simple game that mixes building features with an adventure plot and some puzzles. Simple, short and fun.Very good to kill some time.. Finders is a bit different from the usual Alawar strategy\/management games (of which I have played many). Untimed with infinite resources. By infinite, I mean there is always a way to get more of what you need. Different actions require certain resources and time. Some tasks are done quickly while others can take minutes. Buildings can be freely placed on an isometric grid. There aren't dedicated spots like most Alawar strategies. There is a decent number of types of resources that each have a purpose. Cooking can be done to use resources\/ingredients to make food and stat boost items (faster workers, etc). Smelting to make more valuable ingots to sell for money. All items can be sold to raise money. Some ingredients can only be obtained by buying them from town. Later in the game, there are demand spikes that make random items worth 3x more than usual. Selling in-demand items is a good way to raise the money required for the very expensive vehicles, upgrades, etc. Random, optional objectives will appear that provide rewards if completed. The graphics have a bit more detail than the usual Alawar cartoony style. There are also different mini games inside of the overall resource gathering and building part: Bejeweled-style Match 3 game for mining : 3 blocks is a standard clear, 4 gives one type of power up, and 5 gives a stronger one. Ore is trapped in the dirt that is cleared as blocks are matched beside them. Fishing mini-game : A dialog appears when a fishing spot is clicked. Bread (crafted) is used as bait. Different type of fish can be caught. One of them is used in crafting, and the others are either used just to replenish food or sell for money. Alchemy-style puzzles : There aren't many, but some objectives require this type of puzzle to be completed. A pile of items are shown, and they have to be combined in the right order to meet the objective. Doing it without making mistakes will get you a money bonus. A few different types of logic puzzles : By no means are they brain-bending, but there are a few other puzzles to complete as objectives. There are some things that keep this from being a perfect casual game, but I wouldn't call them cons. Some of the words used are a bit odd. It's obvious that they are a case of "lost in translation". For instance, to fish, the action you take is "Put Out". That sounds like something you do on a date. I would expect "Cast", "Cast Line", etc. Landing the fish is done with "Strike". I would expect "Reel In" as the action. There are also a few oddities in the in-game achievement descriptions. There are in-game achievements that could've easily been implemented as Steam achievements. I like going after achievements, and I completed all of them in the game. It would be nice if they were also in my achievement collection.I really liked the game. It was about as long as I expect almost any Alawar title to be, and the overall variety made it a bit more than a reskinned resource\/time\/worker management game. I got this game on sale for $1.49, and it was definitely worth it. The full price isn't too bad, either. On a side note: I'd like to know how people are getting keys to publish reviews of partial play-throughs. I review fully-completed games for free. :P---For more... My Reviews || My casual gaming... Group | Curator Page. The only bad point of this game is that it is way too short. Too much fun packed in so few hours of gameplay. I really had a ton of fun playing that game, though I was sad after less than 15 hours, I reached the end. :( It's a very casual, relaxing game, to play when you don't want to break your head with complicated stuffs. It's worth way more than what it's priced at, especially when in sale at less than two dollars...So don't hesitate and give it a go. I'm really hoping to be able to play this again, either with added DLC or another version of it.Only a little glitch with the quest I found is that if you don't do a certain quest (for example the humanitarian box to fill) before you change location, the quest doesn't go away, and there is no way to actually complete it.. I love this game... bugs and all! At least the bugs didn't stop me from finishing the game. It is a building \/ strategy game with some match 3 (a LOT if you want to make any money) and a large variety of other puzzles (some unique) thrown into the mix. Some hints to save yourself some frustration if you decide to try it is: Very limited resources (water, food, money) are transferred with you so BEFORE going to the next island: 1. stock up on some gold and\/or iron and preferably have it already converted to ingots (one of the first things to transfer to new location)2. buy as much stuff as you can (inventory is the only thing you can transfer as soon as you have the money to do it)3. don't try to do any quests (on the left) AFTER receiving the quest to go to the next island... especially the CONTAINER quest (they could get locked and you will be unable to complete them)4. I don't know if it makes a difference but all the fish at the bottom of the inventory I either used or sold before moving on because it takes a little time to transfer items to the new location5. stock up on mushrooms and berries BEFORE going to the 4th island because there are NONE thereThe bug that I encountered was I received a CONTAINER quest AFTER getting the quest to go to a new island and was never able to complete it. Not sure but I think what I did wrong was to open the CONTAINER request in the current island and click SHOW (container DID NOT SHOW) instead of going to the next island first. So my suggestion is to go to the next island and THEN check out any new requests. I had 3 unfinished quests at the end but was still able to complete the game. All in all a fun and very addictive game! If you decide to give it a whirl, I hope you have as much fun as I did!. I should preface this by saying that I usually do not play casual games. They usually do not appeal to me. Yet the premise of this game "Superhero goes missing and now you and your team must solve the mystery to find him!" peaked my interest. The game is quite short, and there is no way ( that I could discern ) to objectively "lose". Your team goes from island to island solving puzzles and playing small mini games to complete quests. Nothing is ever taken away from you, so the game is very low-pressure. (I suspect that its made for children. But its fun for adults too, especially if you just got out of a really competitve game and want something laid back to help you wind down.)There is a strategic element to it too, but more about build order and building placement to optimize your economy, rather than commanding armies. The story is a little cheesy , but moves right along (especially if you don't follow all the side quests, which I initially did until I realzied they are procedurally generated and infinite). The integration of archeology and comicbook style superheroes was genius. It worked amazingly well, and its something I've never seen before. If I have any one major criticism about the game, its that its so short. Even going off and doing a lot of sidequests, I completed it in something like 10 hours. Which isn't bad, it just left me wanting more. A few of the puzzles, for example, were only done once. I'd really like to see some DLC or expansions with more islands and more puzzles.Anyway: thoroughly enjoyed it. I bought it during the Steam summer sale when it was under $5. Its definitely worth more than that. Probably $10-$15.. Find Altair, the greatest hero of all times, who has mysteriously disappeared, and help calm chaos in the world before its too late! This game is too cliche for life, if you arent the RPG kinda gamer and who despises collecting loot every two minutes, I do not recommend this game!Ratings - 4\/10
